  • Formula 1 trip with our budding Engineers

Mon 25 Apr 2016 Mr Kearney

Our students recently visited the Formula 1 for Schools project in Bromborough. This is a world challenge where students plan their own Formula 1 cars using CAD drawing software to work on aerodynamics and shape of their cars before using 3D printers to create their cars in a miniature form with their own unique specifications.

Alongside this, the students present their ideas and are judged on how detailed their plans are as well as how they would hypothetically finance the project using sponsorship and also how they would market their car. Each student has a unique role in their team and the teams work together to create their own mini Formula 1 racing team.

The project combines many subjects including Science, Numeracy, Literacy, Business and ICT to name but a few and the students had a fantastic week which they will not forget.

Thanks to Mrs Chew for organising such an excellent project.

Merseyside Wheelchair Handball Tournament @ Greenbank Sports Academy

Thirteen Year 10 pupils travelled Greenbank Sports Academy on the first day back of the Summer Term. They represented the school against other Merseyside schools. It is only the second time they have ever played Wheelchair handball and they used the opportunity to improve their individual and team skills. Clare Mount entered both a girls and boys team. The girls lost two matches in the league stages and the boys lost one match in the league stage. The girls qualified for the second final which they won 3-1. The most improved players for the girls were Kaitlyn K and Sophie J. The boys qualified for the main final and were 3-2 down with one minute to go. They won 4-3 with 10 seconds to spare and epitomised the spirit of ‘never give up’. Most improved players were Michael Griffiths and Marcus Kenney.

  • Clare Mount launches online virtual Tour

    Mon 18 Apr 2016 D. Taylor
We are pleased to announce that Clare Mount now has a virtual tour online. 360 degree photographs were taken of many of the rooms within Clare Mount and have now been put together into virtual tour. You can see what its like to enter the entrance hall, head in for lunch at the dining hall, work out in the fitness and what its like to be in many other rooms throughout the school. We hope this will help both our current students and to help prepare our new students who are looking to come to Clare Mount in the near future. We hope the tour will grow over time to reflect any new additions to our school grounds, such as our soon to be open Community Café and our 'Tesco bags of help' funded sensory garden. the tour can be found by clicking here or by hovering over 'information' and clicking 'virtual tour' on our homepage.
