  • Transport Cancelled for a 3rd Day - 1st February 2019

    Thu 31 Jan 2019 Mrs K Webster - Headteacher

We have just received this email from transport :

    Dear Head and Transport Supplier

I have reluctantly taken the decision to suspend transport for a 3rd day.  The ice and impacted frozen snow has barely thawed with temperatures expected to rise slightly by tomorrow afternoon.  Although the main arteries through the Borough are clear, the minor and side rods continue to be frozen presenting danger of individuals slipping and increasing the risk of an RTA.

With the safety of the service uses, employees and vehicles paramount will not operate Friday 1st February.

Once again I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

    Best Regards

    Rob

    Rob Smith

    Wirral Schools Transport Manager

The school can only apologise for the inconvenience caused and will do our very best to keep school open for any students who can be dropped off and collected at the end of the day.

Please keep checking the school website for any further updates.

    Thu 10 Jan 2019 K. Byrne

On Thursday 10th January Clare Mount's 'Healthy Lifestyle Champions' were put through their paces by Neil Danns, former British and European Skateboard Champion at The Hive Youth Zone in Birkenhead. The day started with an inspirational introduction, during which Neil took the students through his own life journey, explaining that he had come back from school exclusion to being inspired by the sport of skateboarding to quickly becoming the British Champion. News to us all was that Neil's other passion; for dance led to him representing the UK, as a dancer in The Eurovision Song Contest in 1987!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ778bwvxfk)

The practical session involved the HLCs developing their communication, collaboration and planning skills through 4 brilliant games. All the group succeeded in contributing to their respective teams and there were some standout leadership performances from Matthew, Jordan and Leon.

  • Adam is a 10 Pin Bowling Superstar

Mon 07 Jan 2019 Paul Kearney

Adam took up 10 pin bowling in 2016 just 2 years ago after he got interested by playing Wii Sports bowling on Nintendo!! In his first season, Adam was Individual Champion in Bromborough YBC knock out challenge as well as being the highest attending player to training. He also became League Champion along with his Youth team mates at Bromborough

In 2017 Adam became the Individual under 14 Cheshire County Champion. Adam also competed as part of a team in the North of England Open in Nottingham who finished 3rd. He received the Presidents Cup last season for the Adult league he plays in on Sundays. This is given for good sportsmanship throughout the season

Adam bowls at least 3 times a week, practicing during the week and bowling on a Saturday morning for Bromborough Youth team, as well as on Sunday night in an Adult league.

Adam hopes to retain his Individual Cheshire title and make a breakthrough nationally in 10 pin bowling.

recent achievement was 3 weeks ago when he became the Individual Cheshire Champion for under 16’s.

Adam you are a star and an inspiration to your fellow pupils. In 2019 we hope you are inspired to try something new and enjoy it. Adam has been very successful but the main thing is he enjoys his bowling so much.
