Design and Technology
In Years 7 and 8 the department runs on a Carousel for approximately 8 weeks and offers a range of projects using soft and resistant materials. Projects that the students have enjoyed recently are:
In Year 9 the department runs on one lesson per week
- Designing a 3D dinosaur
- Designing and making a Wooden trinket box
- Designing and making a travel sized game for on the move.
- Designing and making a marionette puppet.
- Experimenting with the application of fabric paints and crayons whilst studying Pop Art.

YEAR 10 AND 11 GCSE OPTION
In Key Stage 4 the students have the opportunity to choose the option of GCSE 3D design. This follows the AQA art and design specification and gives the students the freedom to be creative individuals whilst following structured projects lead by the class teacher. Current projects include exploring the symbolism in African design and the students designing and making a personal response in the form of a treasure box.
