School of Sanctuary

We at Clare Mount Specialist Sports College pledge our support to the City of Sanctuary vision that the UK will be a welcoming place of safety for all and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution. As a school, we recognise the contribution of refugees and people seeking sanctuary to the United Kingdom. In our effort to support
sanctuary seekers in the UK, we specifically pledge to:

1. Learn what it means to be seeking sanctuary and about the lives of asylum seekers
and refugees in the UK.

2. Embed this new knowledge and understanding in the curriculum and the daily life
of the school.

3. Share this new knowledge and understanding with the school's wider community
& the City of Sanctuary network.

 

We acknowledge the values, network principles and the Birmingham Declaration as outlined in the City of Sanctuary Charter and will strive to uphold these as appropriate within the context of our school. We are willing for our organisation’s name to be added to a list of supporters of City of Sanctuary.
