Here at Clare Mount we want to prepare our students for life outside of school and to this end we want to provide students with the tools they need to be able to understand the world around them in numerical and logical terms and be able to show their understanding in calculations and diagrams and be able to interpret their findings. To build confidence in their functional numeracy and to develop the transferable skills that mathematics utilises in a holistic way. Problem solving, fluency and mastery, repetition and reinforcement, consistency and persistence, accuracy and curiosity are all key skills to be fostered. To make our students the best independent learners they can be and to allow them to achieve a “gateway” qualification in mathematics, where appropriate and to succeed in their "preparation for adulthood".

One of the most useful ways that our students can engage in and improve upon their numeracy is by accessing the interactive lessons on Mymaths.

There are short videos to support and online worksheets that can be saved and students can give emoji feedback on how things have gone

The site is 23 years old and counting! It has games, is interactive, with a focus on National programmes of study.
