  • Clare Mount once again nominated for national TES award.

    Wed 26 Apr 2017

We are delighted to announce that Clare Mount has once again been nominated for the 'Alternative Provision School of the Year Award' by the Times Education Supplement and we are also in the running for 'Overall School of the Year'. This is the second time in the last three years that Clare Mount has made the shortlist for the award. The TES Schools Awards, now in its ninth year, celebrates the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK. The awards have 17 categories, including primary school, secondary school, head teacher and healthy school. New for 2017 are the community impact award and collaboration award. The Alternative Provision category is for SEN schools who provide invaluable support to students. Teachers in these schools work every day to make sure that students who have additional needs do not go without the great educational experience they deserve. The other schools on the shortlist along with us are:

    • Adelaide School, Crewe
    • Hospital and Outreach Education PRU, Northamptonshire
    • The Boxing Academy, London
    • The Limes College, Sutton
    • Treetops School, Grays
    • Victoria Education Centre, Poole
    • West Kirby Residential School, Wirral

We are very proud and excited and would also like to wish our colleagues at the West Kirby Residential School the best of luck with the award. The Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of Friday 23 June 2017 in the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

    Mon 03 Apr 2017 J. White
Reeve and Kieran were invited to the House of Lords by the Youth Sport Trust to a celebration event hosted by Baroness Sue Campbell. Reeve and Kieran are our PlayUnified Ambassadors and were invited to talk to Minister Penny Mordant, Coca Cola, Bank of America, The Premier League and others about what UnifiedSport Football has brought them in terms of confidence and breaking down barriers and intolerance around additional needs and learning difficulties. They shared meeting and greeting duties with the Baroness and were fantastic ambassadors for our school and for the Unified Generation.
