Wheelchair sporting success for Clare Mount

Merseyside Wheelchair Handball Tournament @ Greenbank Sports Academy

Thirteen Year 10 pupils travelled Greenbank Sports Academy on the first day back of the Summer Term. They represented the school against other Merseyside schools. It is only the second time they have ever played Wheelchair handball and they used the opportunity to improve their individual and team skills. Clare Mount entered both a girls and boys team. The girls lost two matches in the league stages and the boys lost one match in the league stage. The girls qualified for the second final which they won 3-1. The most improved players for the girls were Kaitlyn K and Sophie J. The boys qualified for the main final and were 3-2 down with one minute to go. They won 4-3 with 10 seconds to spare and epitomised the spirit of ‘never give up’. Most improved players were Michael Griffiths and Marcus Kenney.
