Role Models and Catalysts for Change

Formula 1 trip with our budding Engineers

Our students recently visited the Formula 1 for Schools project in Bromborough. This is a world challenge where students plan their own Formula 1 cars using CAD drawing software to work on aerodynamics and shape of their cars before using 3D printers to create their cars in a miniature form with their own unique specifications.

Alongside this, the students present their ideas and are judged on how detailed their plans are as well as how they would hypothetically finance the project using sponsorship and also how they would market their car. Each student has a unique role in their team and the teams work together to create their own mini Formula 1 racing team.

The project combines many subjects including Science, Numeracy, Literacy, Business and ICT to name but a few and the students had a fantastic week which they will not forget.

Thanks to Mrs Chew for organising such an excellent project.
