  • Important Information About This Year's Exam Results

Sat 18 Apr 2020 Kevin Byrne

Dear Parents / Carers and Students,

On the 3rd April 2020, The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (Ofqual) set out details on how GCSEs were to be awarded this Summer.

For this Summer’s awards, schools are being asked to provide centre assessment GCSE grades for their students. These must be fair, objective and carefully considered judgements of the grades schools believe their students would have been most likely to achieve if they had sat their exams, and should take into account the full range of available evidence.

Ofqual are also asking schools to provide a rank order of students within each grade. These results will be put through a National standardisation process before any student’s qualifications can be confirmed.

Schools have been told that they must not share their centre assessment grades with students, parents or carers, under any circumstances, until after final results are issued. Ofqual have stated that ‘results won’t be delayed after the dates they were expected in August’.

As and when we hear any more information, we will pass this on to you.

Thank you for all you are doing to look after your family's well-being and learning under these difficult circumstances.

    Ms Evans

  • Exciting News from The Home-Start Network!

    Wed 01 Apr 2020 KB
    Dear Parents / Carers,

For 20 years we were part of the Home-Start network, but today is our first day as a newly named charity - Koala North West. No change to our charity number, etc - just the name and logo/brand.

We had really hoped we could share our new name and brand with you at our big Celebration and Launch event on 3rd April, but instead we are all at home social isolating/distancing!

Thankfully we have emails and social media!

I hope you can take the time to read our introductory booklet (link here; https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/claremountspecialist/UploadedDocument/f82dc181845648cd940f7b289c9beff0/welcome-to-koala-north-west.pdf) and find out a bit more about the new name/brand and the services they offer - in normal circumstances! Obviously we have had to stop all our home visiting services and groups and can only offer telephone/video call support for families at the moment, but we are looking forward to getting back to normal as soon as we can.

Our new website and social media sites have also gone live today - so please have a look at them, and share with your colleagues/friends.

If you have any questions/comments about our change of name or the services we offer please contact us - you can reply directly to this email and Lynn will get your questions to the relevant staff members of you can contact me at  bevmorgan@koalanw.co.uk  or phone me on  07810340097.

We do have new leaflets and referral forms, etc. for all our services so just let us know if/when you want copies when everything is finally back to normal.

    Keep safe everyone

    Regards,

    Bev Morgan
