'Le Tournoi' Finals Week Part 2

Wednesday and Thursday this week saw the 3rd and 4th games of our semi finals. Game 3 decided the line up for the Key Stage 3 final. Nelson met 7E, who had qualified for the semi final with the best 2nd placed Goal Difference. Lewis Cubbins drove them on to an emphatic victory to ensure that they play 9BO in the final. It was another game played in an excellent spirit and Nelson were a credit to their form, as were 7E

Final Score:

Nelson v 7E         1 – 6 (Lewis Cubbins)

The final day in the semi finals did not disappoint as a bumper crowd joined us as 6CS played 10L for the right to play 11BA in the Key Stage 4/5 Final.

It was a brilliant game and had concentration, self discipline, responsibility, fairness and imagination on show as everyone had a fantastic time playing and watching. 6CS went 1 down early but then roared into life, firstly with a Stuart Pearce-esque free kick from Harry Graham and then Jack Blessing took charge and fired 6CS into a 4-1 lead. Will Button got a penalty but with 50 seconds left it was 4-2 and 6CS were advancing, but he again took charge and forced a remarkable 4-4 draw with a very late equaliser.

Extra time arrived and neither side wanted to give any quarter and it looked like we were heading for penalties, but Cometh the hour, cometh the Riley and James poked home very late on for a famous 5-4 victory for 6CS.

So today's result:
6CS v 10L     5 – 4 (A.E.T) (James Riley)

Lots of excitement for today's final!!!!!!!
