School governor takes on Mount Kilimanjiro for charity

One of our school governors, Mr Vaughan, has decided to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjiro in order to raise funds for Inclusively Taekwondo (ITKD). ITKD has been on offer at Clare Mount's community sports night for many years and is something that Mr Vaughan's son Sam has enjoyed and found great success in. Mr Vaughan said, 'On 19th October I am undertaking the challenge of a 9 day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjiro. Albeit this is a bucket list challenge, I have decided to raise some funds for Inclusively Taekwondo. As you know, ITKD has been part of the Community Sports Night at our school. Sam accessed ITKD through attending the course at Clare Mount over three years ago and his confidence and social skills have improved vastly as a result and he is only two gradings away from achieving a black belt. It is a great charity that provides access to martial arts for adults and children with disabilities that would normally be hard to reach.'

If you would like to support Mr Vaughan with a donation please go to his Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/christian-vaughan?utm_term=rP2mNRaZp

Good luck Mr Vaughan
