Role Models and Catalysts for Change

Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside joins our British Values Tea Party

Well, the timing of our British Values Tea Party this year simply couldn't have been better as our whole community had something very special to celebrate; winning the National Pearson Silver Award in the category of 'Outstanding Secondary School: Making a Difference.' We welcomed The Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mr Mark Blundell to present Mrs. Webster with the award after an amazing introduction by our students topped off with a fanfare from Mrs Hewitt.

After an introductory speech from Chair of Governors' Mrs Dutton, The Lord Lieutenant shared with us how impressed he was by the school and the students before presenting the award. Mrs. Webster then gave a short speech, explaining why we should all be proud at having received this award and that we now have a chance of winning a Gold Award at a ceremony in London in October!

After a fantastic afternoon tea, we were entertained by our brilliant sign-language choir and the fantastically talented George from Year 10; who sang with the voice of an angel! We ended proceedings with The National Anthem. A simply wonderful event. Thank you to Mrs Boyle and her team for the planning and preparation and for the amazing catering team for such a lovely afternoon tea.

One very proud community today!
