Clare Mount Students Enjoy 'Active Learning'

Since September, students in many classes at Clare Mount have been taking part in Active Maths using the brilliant 'Maths of the Day' software. Why do we do this? Well, for two reasons really: Firstly, we are trying to minimise the amount of sitting down our students do as it's detrimental to short and long-term health and secondly, many of our students enjoy learning this way and it can help to understand difficult maths concepts if they're presented in a 'problem-solving' way! Pictured here are our 6th form students completing a maths orienteering course. Throughout the year, more and more of our classes have been trying out active learning and we are hoping to extend it to other subject areas in future.
