Clare Mount School Games / Commonwealth Day a Massive Success
On Thursday 28th June, all year 7 and 8 students and an amazing selection of our Healthy Lifestyle Champions and Sports Leaders brought The Commonwealth games 2022 to life with a School Games Festival coordinated by Mrs Corcoran.
The students, representing 5 Commonwealth countries took part in:
- Taekwondo, under the guidance of Tina from Inclusively Taekwondo
- Team Building, led by our Youth Sport Trust Athlete Mentor and World Champion Inline-Skater Jenna Downing
- Tag Rugby, led by our own Mr. Ritchie and Mr Basey
- Commonwealth Games activities, led by Mr. White
- Introduction to golf, led by Mike and Will from 'GolfStarz'
It was an absolutely brilliant day full of fun, smiles, competition, determination and a fair bit of resilience! The students were magnificent all day. It isn't easy being physically active for over 4 hours but there were no complaints: Amazing work, everyone!
Huge thanks especially to our Healthy Lifestyle Champions, not just for their work today but for their work throughout the year: Acting as ambassadors and wellbeing mentors for their peers.
Tash, Kayleigh, Kai, Rhuben, James, Oliver, Carter, Scott and Lucas: Thank you all so much for your leadership skills and for being amazing role-models
