Role Models and Catalysts for Change

Clare Mount and Tranmere Rovers team up for a Football 'Fit Fun Fest!

As part of Tranmere Rovers In the Community’s (TRIC) Premier League Primary Stars Project, the Club continued their partnership with Claremount Specialist Sports College, who invited pupils from Orretts Meadow School and Hayfield School to an Inclusive Festival recently.

Pupils from the two local primary school engaged in a “Transition Festival,” which is aimed to help children who will be making the step up from primary school to secondary school next September.

Football and multi-skills sessions were delivered by TRIC coaches, with the event ending in a football tournament to conclude an enjoyable day.

Claremount sixth form students and sports leaders assisted TRIC’s coaches throughout the event, which continues Rovers’ Premier League Primary Stars Project.

Premier League Primary Stars uses the power and appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire and develop important life skills both in and out of the classroom.

The project, which is open to every primary school in England and Wales, and pupils aged 5-11-years-old, aims to inspire the next generation.

From English and Maths to Team Work and Physical Education, learning is tailored to real-world football and sport when tackling a diverse range of topics.

TRIC engages with thousands of people across the Wirral peninsula and beyond each year to help improve the lives of those in our local community.

Working across four core themes of Community Engagement, Health, Education and Sports Participation - the community team’s work has expanded from coaching in schools to a wide range of innovative projects.

The charity is based at Tranmere Rovers Recreation Centre at Prenton Park, and the team visit many schools and colleges across the Wirral, while they also run a large number of our sessions from the Recreation Centre where more than 300 participants a week visit.
