Sale Sharks Tackle Together Rugby Festival
Clare Mount Students Shine at Sale Sharks Tackle Together Rugby Festival
A group of enthusiastic Year 9 and 10 students from Clare Mount Specialist Sports College enjoyed a day to remember as they took part in the Sale Sharks Tackle Together Festival, hosted by the Premiership rugby club.
The event offered an action-packed day of rugby activities designed to promote teamwork, inclusion, and the development of key skills. The morning featured skills workshops delivered by expert Sale Sharks coaches, focusing on passing, movement, support play, and game awareness — all tailored to the tag rugby format.
In the afternoon, the Clare Mount team put their new skills into action in a series of friendly matches against schools from across the region. The boys performed brilliantly, winning three out of their four matches and demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout.
PE staff praised the group’s attitude and effort, with all students playing in high spirits and representing the school with pride.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for the boys to experience professional coaching and competitive rugby in a fun and supportive environment,” said one of the teachers. “They gave their all, and it was brilliant to see them enjoying the game and supporting each other.”
The trip was part of Clare Mount’s ongoing commitment to inclusive sport and enriching experiences beyond the classroom. Judging by the smiles, it’s safe to say the day was a huge success.
