Rowing into Success: Year 10 Show Strength and Team Spirit

This year, the Year 10 rowing programme has gone from strength to strength, giving pupils the chance to build fitness, boost confidence, and develop strong teamwork skills along the way.

Rowing isn’t just about physical power—it’s about working together, staying focused, and pushing through challenges. Whether it was on the rowing machines in winter or out on the water in summer, Year 10 pupils have shown real determination and resilience.

Back in February, students took part in an Indoor Rowing Competition, where they competed in timed challenges and supported each other throughout. It was a great opportunity to see how far they’d come and to test their limits in a fun, energetic environment.

The hard work really paid off in July, when the group took part in a Mini Regatta. For many, it was their first real taste of racing on the water—and they didn’t disappoint! The event brought out the best in everyone: strong technique, great teamwork, and lots of encouragement from the sidelines.

Overall, the rowing programme has been a brilliant experience for everyone involved. It’s helped build fitness, confidence, and friendships—and we’re excited to see even more Year 10s take part next year!
