Battle Fields Trip

On Monday 3rd March a group of boys set off on a four-day adventure, to visit the WW1 Battlefields in France and Belgium. The students had a wonderful week, learning about WW1.

During the week students drove between France and Belgium, visiting many interesting sites, including: Ypres, The Somme, Thiepval Memorial, Flanders Fields Museum, Passchendaele Memorial Museum and Tyne Cot Cemetery.

The students and staff found the experience very moving. A highlight of the week, was witnessing The Last Post, being played at the Menin Gate service.

The students also enjoyed the cultural experience and opportunity to visit two new countries, that they hadn’t previously been to. Students particularly enjoyed sampling Belgium chocolate, in the city centre of Ypres!
