  • Tomorrows Women visit Clare Mount as part of our new Wednesday HOST session

    Fri 11 Oct 2019 D. Taylor

Wirral charity, Tomorrows Women, visited Clare Mount to give a talk about thier organisation to some of our parents and carers. The session was the first of our new HOST sessions. The idea behind these sessions is to provide a place for local charities and organisations to give information to parents and carers on how they might be able to give help and advice on a wide range of needs. These sessions will take place on various Wednesdays throughout the school year, flyers will be sent out to advertise the dates.

Tomorrow's Women Wirral (TWW) was launched in September 2011. Due to the success of the project we moved into our own independent accommodation in April 2012 and became a charity in September 2012.

TWW is a project designed to benefit all women aged 18+ in the community and is committed to reducing female imprisonment, offending, and to provide assistance to those women who want to make positive lifestyle changes.

The next HOST session will be on Wednesday 16th October from 11am until 12pm. CARITAS will be joining us for this session. CARITAS is an organisation that offer support to families and children.

  • 6th Form meet a Wirral Ranger

    Fri 11 Oct 2019 C. Vicars
Clare Mount 6th form invited Cathy Oldfield to discuss her job as a Wirral Ranger. Cathy’s visit
supported pupils studying ASDAN Environment studies, Expressive Arts, Workright, John Muir
award, Culture and World studies and Gardening!
Cathy explained the variety of tasks that her job entailed and talked pupils through some real life
scenarios in which they had to choose the correct course of action. This included someone falling in
bushes, a rider thrown off her horse and breaking her leg when it was scared by the noise of a crisp
packet rustling in bushes and a cliff top full of bulls that had escaped!
Cathy allowed students to try on some of the special protective clothing necessary for her job. Pupils
asked her lots of great questions and thanked her for the beautiful posters that she has allowed 6 th
    form to keep.
Well done to 6 th form.

  • Clare Mount pupils visit the circus

    Tue 01 Oct 2019 D. Taylor
Last week some of our students went on an after school trip to the travelling circus in New Brighton. They had a great time and came back with lots of stories to tell of the performance they had seen. As usual, they were amazingly well behaved. A massive well done to everyone who went and we hope you really enjoyed it. Lastly, a huge thank you to Mrs Mault and her team who organised the whole trip.
