Back in October 2016, Clare Mount held their third fundraising day in as many years, to raise money for Chester Zoo’s charity, Go Orange for Orangutans, which is part of their Act for Wildlife campaign. As part of our day, we held a Bake Off Competition.

The Orangutan Foundation UK held their Orangutan Awareness week from 7th-14th November 2016. As part of this, they launched a ‘Great British Bake Off’ Competition. Mrs Croucher sent photos of the cakes from our own school Bake Off in to the competition.

We found out last week that both Georgia from Year 8 and Mrs Croucher won 3rd Prize for their designs!

    Mon 16 Jan 2017 D. Keefe

Clare Mount is keen to promote the physical and mental health and well-being of all pupils at Clare Mount. To support pupils to do this our annual health week runs in January to help people make (and hopefully keep) New Year resolutions. Our themes for the week are as follows:

Monday - Hydration - Bring your water bottle to school. Drink 5-8 cups a day.

Free your feet - Increase the minutes you walk before-school, at break, lunch and form through the week to be in with a chance of winning up to £50 of high street vouchers from Living Streets.

Tuesday - Bring a healthy snack to school. Skipathon. The Wirral Health Promoting Team will also be in school talking to Year 7s, 9s and P-16 about nutrition.

Wednesday - Wake-and-Shake followed by Underground Training Station circuits. New gymnastics club starting. Community Sport Night.

Thursday - And Relax .... taster yoga sessions available through the day.

Friday - Personal Best Challenge .... run, walk, ride, row as far as you can outside lessons as an individual, team or form. Come in your trainers to school.

PARENTS ARE ASKED TO NOT GIVE THEIR CHILDREN CRISPS, SWEETS/CHOCOLATE OR SUGARY DRINKS TO BRING TO SCHOOL IN HEALTH WEEK.
