  • Clare Mount Students and Staff Show - Yet Again - What Really Matters in our Community!

    Fri 22 Oct 2021 KB / LN

On 22nd October, the Clare mount Community took part in an 'own-clothes' day with a difference! Year 11 have chosen as their charity for the year 'Fans Supporting Foodbanks.' The whole school community were asked to engage and they most definitely did! Hundreds of items of food were donated throughout the day and when the charity's van turned up to collect the generous donation they were blown away by our wonderful students; yet again!

A Herculean effort once again Clare Mount! Well done!

  • Fantastic New Project Begins with Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club

    Sun 17 Oct 2021 KB / SSt

An amazing new project, introducing 10 of our students to the sport of rowing is into its 3rd week.

On Friday afternoons, the students, as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, are attending Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club. The progressive course will gradually introduce the students to the sport, including the maintenance of the equipment, training on the water and dry land and ultimately give the students an understanding of what it takes to be a successful rower.

The staff at LVRC have been fantastic coaches and role-models and the students are growing in confidence with every week.

This project is set to run for the whole year and will feature a regatta in 2022!!

  • Clare Mount Students Shine at Merseyside Dodgeball Tournament

    Thu 14 Oct 2021 KB

On Thursday 14th October, 13 of our year 8 students took part in an annual Merseyside-wide Dodgeball tournament at Greenbank Sports Academy in Liverpool. We had so many students interested in taking part that a decision was made to enter two squads; The Ninjas and The Warriors! They both performed magnificently throughout the day.

As the competition progressed, although both teams had fantastic wins against most of the other teams, the Ninjas finished the group stages in 2nd place and the Warriors in 4th place; and so we went on to contest both the overall final and the 3rd and 4th place play-off.

Sadly, in both final games, we narrowly missed out (8-4 in the final and 12-10 in the play off) but most importantly the teams grew in confidence, team spirit and skill level as the tournament progressed. It was amazing to see the tactics improve throughout the day.

A big shout out to Charlie E and Lewis C for captaining both sides brilliantly.

Well done Charlie, Lewis, Freddie, Oscar, Harry, Daniel, Jack, Seth, Josh, Theo, Alfred, Joel and Nathan.

Can't wait for the next one!

    A very proud Mr Byrne!!

  • Students say 'Hello Yellow' for World Mental Health Day

    Sun 10 Oct 2021 KB

With Sunday 10th October being World Mental Health Day, Clare Mount joined schools all round the world on Friday 8th in marking the occasion by wearing yellow. We also celebrated the day by showing 'random acts of kindness' to each other!

It was amazing to see so many of the students and staff fully involved. The charity Young Minds will be the beneficiary of all monies raised by the students wearing yellow and our 6th form students who took part in a sponsored walk in the afternoon.

  • 6th Form Badminton Programme: Wirral Tennis Centre

    Fri 01 Oct 2021

A fantastic partnership has begun with our 6th form, The Wirral Tennis Centre and Peter from The Belvidere Centre. Students now receive expert coaching and the opportunity to play both badminton and table tennis each week.

On Friday 22nd October, 6th-form rounded off the first half term of badminton with a competition; Sam was victorious with Max finishing runner-up! A brilliant programme that we hope will continue through the year!

Our aim, throughout 6th form is to give our students multiple experiences of taking part in sport and physical activity in the community and this builds on our already great links with Moreton Hills Golf Centre and Birkenhead Venture Boxing Club
