  • "The champions of West Cheshire" win gold but lose a thrilling final at Warrington CC

Thu 22 Jun 2023 Paul Kearney

Our Cricket team travelled to Warrington for the North West regional tournaments. They beat Dorin Park by 107 runs to 36, Oaklands 2s in a close game by 76 runs to 68 then a strong performance saw us win by 106 runs to 26 against Foxfield and thus, win both the group and Gold Medals.

We played a final game against Oaklands 1s and we were beaten by 115 runs to 97 with some big hitting from both teams.

Here is the group with their medals and all of the players from every side. It was a fantastic day, brilliantly organised, as ever, by Cheshire Cricket Board.

Thanks  to Mr Ritchie for driving us to the tournament

A huge well done to our year 10 student Lewis Francom who completed the Wirral walk this weekend with his dad. Not only did he walk 12.5 miles but Lewis raised over £300 in sponsorship for his Trip to Africa.

  • And Still.....Cricketers retain their title at the Merseyside Tournament

Thu 08 Jun 2023 Paul Kearney

The cricketers made the journey to Alder Cricket Club in West Derby for the annual Merseyside tournament which they won last year. They began with a victory against Sandfield Park 243 to 230 before then beating Chestnut Lodge by 260 runs to 205. Finally they played Merefield and it was a close run thing but the team prevailed by 208 to 205 to defend their title and become 2 time Merseyside Champions. Well done to Luke S as captain, Nick M, Nathan I, Theo T, Kieran S, Callum H, Harry Z and Euan W. Thanks to Mrs Beattie for getting us there in the minibus
