6th form explore the work of artist John Stezaker with funny results.

  • Autism Accreditation Parent/ Carer Survey

    Fri 17 Jan 2020 T. Roland

    Dear Parent/ Carer

    Autism Accreditation - Clare Mount

As part of the process for our Autism Accreditation assessment, we are obliged to carry out a survey for autistic people, their families and other professionals, if applicable.

This will take the form of an on-line survey and takes only a few minutes to complete and in order to assist you in completion, a text containing the link will be sent to Parents/ Carers on Monday 20th January 2020.

We would be very grateful if you would complete this survey as it will not only assist our accreditation, but also inform our practices in working with children with autism in school.

Should you have any queries or comments regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me via the School Office.

Thanking you in advance of your assistance.

    Yours faithfully,

    T. Rowland,

    Assistant Headteacher

  • 6th Form Visit The Hive Youth Zone to Launch 'Round The World' Challenge

    Thu 16 Jan 2020 K. Byrne

On Thursday 16th January, our 6th formers took part in a special afternoon of sport and physical activity at The Hive Youth Zone in Birkenhead. We had been given the opportunity due to the launch of a new project, happening across the country and devised by the charity Mencap: The Round The World Challenge (https://www.mencap.org.uk/about-us/our-projects/mencap-sport/round-world-challenge)

The students received expert coaching in Kin-Ball, Climbing and Sitting Volleyball and it was clear to see how much the students have improved their skills and confidence over the last 12 months: A brilliant afternoon!

If you would like more information about The Round The World Challenge and/or The 'Hiveability' sessions that take place weekly every Sunday at The Hive, contact Jo Patten on 0151 705 8000 or jo.patten@thehiveyouthzone.org

  • Sixth form answer the question 'What happens to the things we recycle?'

    Thu 09 Jan 2020 C. Vicars
A few months ago one of our pupils asked ‘what happens to the things that we recycle?’ To find out our 6th form visited Gilmoss Recycling Discovery Centre in Liverpool. We started off in the learning centre working out what can and can’t be recycled. We then learned about how far the different materials have to travel to be recycled. We looked at the different machinery that they use to do the recycling. We saw the engineers working on some of the machines and we even met an elephant made of recycled materials. We had a great morning, Thanks to Kirsty at Gilmoss.
