  • Football Girls Win Gold!!!!

    Wed 24 Nov 2021 KB

On Monday 22nd November our girls entered the annual Merseyside SEN Football Festival, held at The Greenbank Sports Academy in Liverpool. The girls were up against teams from Woodchurch HS from Wirral and Alt Bridge from Huyton, Liverpool.

In the morning the girls took part in a mixed, fun tournament which was a brilliant warm-up for events in the afternoon.

After lunch, Clare Mount started with a great win against Alt Bridge. Next, they came up against Woodchurch and Woodchurch came out winners. This provided a really good challenge for the girls as they worked together to come up with a strategy for the next time the teams met!

As things transpired, Clare Mount's next game was against Woodchurch in the grand final.

The performance of the girls in the final was magnificent. Every player defended so well that Woodchurch were rarely able to cross the half-way line. After 3 minutes, Kayleigh scored a lovely goal and a couple of minutes later this was followed by a goal from Skye. Woodchurch tried really hard to push Clare Mount back but by this stage the girls knew they were close to victory, playing like a true defensive unit before victory was confirmed with a lovely, drive shot by Tash.

Jubilation at the final whistle; job well done!!

Congratulations to the whole squad: Tash, Kayleigh, Lily, Skye, Jess, Bella, Melissa and Courtney. They all played their part in a truly memorable day and every single one of them showed resilience, determination and courage throughout the day!

Congratulations to all 3 teams and to the organisers at Greenbank!

  • A fantastic achievement for Katie with Chance to Shine

Thu 04 Nov 2021 Paul Kearney

Today we were able to hand over to Katie an award from Chance to Shine for fantastic achievements in Cricket throughout the time at Clare Mount so far. Katie has been a fantastic ambassador, not only for the Cricket club at Clare Mount, but also an inspiration to all students at the school. Katie has improved as a player but, not only this, Katie has helped to improve so many other players and inspired many, who may not have traditionally got involved in sports clubs, to enjoy playing cricket and improve their skills massively. Katie wins a signed England cricket bat with a certificate of authenticity. A massive well done from all at Clare Mount.
