  • An Inspirational Day at Neston Cricket Club Watching International Cricket

Mon 17 Jul 2017 Paul Kearney
A group of students, along with Mr Kearney and Mr White went to watch the final of the International Tri Nations Series of Cricket between England, led by Chris Edwards and Australia. This was in the Learning Disability class. The quality of cricket on show was a fantastic inspiration to our youngsters about what can be achieved through cricket and the students had a fantastic time, mixing with Ridgeway school students to show that Cricket Has No Boundaries. The students may also feature on North West Tonight as the footage was filmed and James and Dennis were interviewed. All students were fantastic ambassadors for Clare Mount School and thanks to Mr White for his support.
  • Clare Mount Key Stage 3 students do us proud in County Cricket Finals against Key Stage 4 and 5

Wed 12 Jul 2017 Paul Kearney
It was a bit like land of the giants for our young squad who attended the Cheshire Cricket Tournament playing against Oaklands, Greenbank and Hebden Green schools.

In the first game we faced a good Oaklands side who took plenty of our wickets and even though we scored more runs we lost the game due to losing more wickets. Oaklands played in a fantastic spirit throughout. Some excellent bowling from Philip and Dennis was the highlight of this fixture.

In the second game some of the Greenbank side were 6 or 7 years older and physically stronger than our boys who competed really well but lost despite some brilliant batting from all the boys. We were exceptionally pleased with the boys as their opposition were much older and more experienced in this game. Some big hits from Reeve, James and Kieran helped us to be very competitive in this fixture

In the last game against Hebden Green the boys really hit their straps and scored lots of runs with Jack hitting lots of 6s and then they fielded excellently and won the game to finish in excellent style. "Champagne" Sam with his trademark sweep shot, Jack's excellent all round display and Frankie's excellent bowling and attitude personified the team's efforts in this game.

I am as proud as always with Reeve, James, Kieran, Dennis, Philip, Sam, Frankie and Jack Who all played amazingly against much older players. These boys will be doing the school proud in all cricketing events for many years to come and were a credit to their various Form Teachers and Heads of Year. This is a tough competition made tougher by us being by far the youngest side. When these boys mature we will be exceptionally tough to beat in this format
