BIKE MECHANICS WORKSHOPS CONTINUE

Yet more thanks to Kate Hughes and The Peter Johnson Foundation who continue to provide funding for Geoff and Phil from Pedal Zone to offer a bike mechanics learners programme on Wednesday afternoon at school. The programme runs for 20 weeks each year and ensure that not only our bikes well looked after but that pupils can service bikes themselves. Following on from his experiences last year Tom secured employment at Off the Rocks bike repair shop, whilst Jordan is doing a similar work experience this year.

 

A SMILE FOR A CHILD DONATION:

Major thanks to Mick Hoban and Chris Read from A Smile for A Child. Chris supported the school last year to raise money for our New MUGA, sports wheelchairs and bikes, and this year has put us in touch with Mick who has raised £1000 doing a triathlon in memory of a friend. “I am delighted to be making this donation to Clare Mount to support the excellent work you are doing. My own daughter, now 27, has autism so I know how much benefit such donations can make”. A group of Year 10 pupils have decided the money will be spent on new boxing gloves and a speed ball, as well as more KO8 strength and conditioning bands.
