Role Models and Catalysts for Change

A Truly Wonderful Celebration Assembly for Clare Mount - Easter 2023

On Friday 31st March - our last day before the Easter Break - we enjoyed celebration assemblies at both our school sites. Students received their well-earned recognition for - (amongst other things)

  • Excellence in the classroom (Subject Stars)
  • 'My Personal Best' employability and character attributes (resilience, empathy, respect, concentration, curiosity and much more!)
  • Being excellent role models (Clare Mount Awards)
  • Preparation for Adulthood
  • Contribution to Wider School Life (enrichment and extra-curricular involvement)

It really was a very special couple of hours and it was fantastic to see how proud the students were of their achievements and contributions. We were all treated to performances by our school band (Jared, Darrell and Charlie - expertly supported by Mr Waters and Mr Gore), our school singers AND our boys dance troupe - trained and choreographed by Mrs Corcoran.

A new feature of the assembly was a chance for members of our school council to speak to the rest of the student body about what it means to them to be a Clare Mount student and what they enjoy most about school and representing their peers. They all spoke with such confidence and joy! Amazing performances!

As we neared the end of proceedings we were joined by special guest, Joe Keelan - a former student who has recently graduated as a member of The Royal Navy. Joe spoke to us all about his experiences on his 10-week training programme. It is just amazing to see how Joe has grown in confidence and he gave a perfect demonstration of what our students can achieve in future with self-belief, hard work and determination.

A magic morning!
