    Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One (1:1) Teaching Assistant to support a KS3 pupil with medical needs

     

    About the Role:

     

    • Provide one-to-one support for an autistic 11-year-old male pupil
    • Provide intimate medical care daily
    • Support access to the curriculum, adapt learning resources, and promote communication and social skills
    • Implement behavior strategies and provide visual supports
    • Provide personal care (toileting, hygiene, changing) with dignity and in line with safeguarding and care plans
    • Promote and support the development of independence skills as appropriate
    • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
    • Monitor and record progress, attend meetings, and support transitions between lessons

    About You:

    • Experience working with autistic children or those with additional needs
    • Training in safeguarding, first aid, and intimate medical personal care (or willingness to undertake training) with support from healthcare professionals and parents
    • Knowledge of autism-specific strategies (e.g, sensory regulation)
    • Patience, strong observation and communication skills
    • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and supporting positive pupil outcomes
