Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is a very successful secondary school for pupils aged 11 - 19 with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs including autism. The school is outstanding in all areas as judged in its most recent Ofsted report and recently gained Autism Accreditation with Beacon Status.


Due to an unexpected increase in our pupil numbers for September, we are seeking to appoint an excellent, well qualified and inspirational teacher with the ability to work across a wide range of subjects for all ages, to join our exceptionally successful school. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated practitioner who is child centred and able to meet the diverse needs of young people who have difficulties within a learning and social environment. You must be fully inclusive and interested in the development of the whole child, able to differentiate work and your teaching to meet a range of social, emotional and academic needs. The successful candidate will also be able to create a high-quality learning environment in which pupils are passionate about learning, maintain high standards of planning, assessment and record keeping, and communicate
effectively with staff, parents and students.


The successful candidate will be:


A strong teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes.


Have up-to-date knowledge of subject curricula and assessment requirements for mixed key stages.


Be passionate about all aspects of the curriculum, education and the importance subjects have in the wider culture and ethos of the school.


Be willing to learn more about the ever-changing needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Clare Mount Specialist Sports College has a record of high standards and was again judged 'Outstanding'. The school is one of the largest special secondary schools in the UK for students with moderate learning difficulties, speech and language difficulties and  Autism. Due to the continued increasing number of students placed with us this year we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, flexible and suitably qualified Teaching Assistants at Level 1 and Level 2.

 

The successful candidates will be skilful in working with young people. They will have an understanding of the impact of additional needs on pupils learning. Patience, creativity, initiative and desire to learn are essential qualities for this post. The diverse role of the TA requires enthusiasm, commitment, flexibility and ambition for young people.
