The UNESCO Happy Schools Framework is based around 4 pillars:
People, Process, Place, and Principles. Together, these pillars create a holistic model for embedding well-being and happiness into schools
The four pillars are defined as follows:
- People: This pillar focuses on supportive, collaborative relationships and the overall physical and emotional well-being of the entire school community. How this affects our culture and processes at Clare Mount is that it emphasises positive teacher attitudes, student-teacher trust, and respect for diversity.
- Process: This focuses on our methods of teaching and learning. We aim to create joyful, engaging learning strategies, positive discipline, and managing workloads so that learning remains an inspiring and stress-reduced experience.
- Place: This Refers to the physical and psychological learning environment. It ensures that Clare Mount is full of safe and welcoming spaces.
- Principles: A focus for our overarching values and school vision. This involves integrating happiness, inclusivity, and holistic personal growth into the core goals at Clare Mount
