Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is a very successful secondary school for pupils aged 11 - 19 with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs including autism. The school is outstanding in all areas as judged in its most recent Ofsted report and recently gained Autism Accreditation with Beacon Status.

Due to an unexpected increase in our pupil numbers for September, we are seeking to appoint an excellent, well-qualified and inspirational teacher with the ability to work across a wide range of subjects for all ages, to join our exceptionally successful school. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated practitioner who is child centred and able to meet the diverse needs of young people who have difficulties within a learning and social environment. You must be fully inclusive and interested in the development of the whole child, able to differentiate your work and adapt your teaching to meet a range of social, emotional and academic needs. The successful candidate will also be able to create a high-quality learning environment in which pupils are passionate about learning, maintain high standards of planning, assessment and record keeping, and communicate effectively with staff, parents and students.

    The successful candidate will be:

    • A strong teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes.
    • Have up-to-date knowledge of subject curricula and assessment requirements for mixed key stages.
    • Be passionate about all aspects of the curriculum, education and the importance subjects have in the wider culture and ethos of the school.
    • Be willing to learn more about the ever-changing needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

This post is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher. It is also suitable for a teacher who, to date, has worked in the primary sector – since the ability and willingness to teach multiple subjects are essential!

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Level DBS check.

Thank you for taking an interest in our school and we look forward to receiving your application.

Completed application forms and supporting letter (no more than x 2 sides of A4) should be returned to the Headteacher, Mr D Keefe. Email: recruitment@claremount.wirral.sch.uk
