    Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible, and suitably qualified Design Technology Technician to join our outstanding team. We are one of the largest special secondary schools in the UK, catering for students with moderate learning difficulties, speech and language difficulties, and autism. With an increasing number of students joining us, we are expanding our Design Technology provision.

     

    About the Role:

    You will play a vital role in supporting our Design Technology department, ensuring workshops run smoothly and safely. You’ll work closely with teachers and students, operating and maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and supporting a wide range of practical activities. Your expertise will help us to deliver engaging and safe learning experiences, supporting students with a range of additional needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Lead the preparation, maintenance, and safe operation of workshop equipment and tools
    • Oversee specialist equipment, including CAD/CAM, laser cutters, and 3D printers
    • Support students and staff with practical learning activities
    • Manage departmental resources, stock, and record keeping
    • Contribute to the development of new technical initiatives
    • Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
