Sixth form answer the question 'What happens to the things we recycle?'

A few months ago one of our pupils asked ‘what happens to the things that we recycle?’ To find out our 6th form visited Gilmoss Recycling Discovery Centre in Liverpool. We started off in the learning centre working out what can and can’t be recycled. We then learned about how far the different materials have to travel to be recycled. We looked at the different machinery that they use to do the recycling. We saw the engineers working on some of the machines and we even met an elephant made of recycled materials.
