Duke of Edinburgh
Welcome to our very own D of E page! The Duke of Edinburgh Award (D of E) is designed to promote a range of skills in young people. These include teamwork, resilience, innovation, problem-solving, communication and determination.
Students will need to complete four sections for each award. In Year 10 students will start the Bronze Award, The four sections to be attempted are:
Service (To others/Community)
Physical
Skill
Expedition
On successful completion, students move onto the Silver Award. The sections are the same but students need to spend longer on each of the areas in order to complete the award. Once completed, pupils are then free to attempt the Gold Award at their next place of education. They have until the age of 24 to finish this.
D of E Autumn 2020
Welcome back to the Duke of Edinburgh Award. I am delighted to see all our students back to school and excited in starting our D of E programme with our students. As always there are challenges ahead of us but we have started training for expedition sections by improving our fitness for walking.
The Year 11 pupils will be completing their Bronze challenges this year and we look forward to celebrating their achievements soon!
See you out and about!
