Deputy Headteacher

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dynamic, inspirational Deputy Headteacher to our very successful secondary special school for pupils aged 11to 19 years old in Wirral. The last Ofsted report (June 2016) judged the school to be outstanding in all areas of its educational provision.

 

Ideally, the prospective candidate for this post will have recent and relevant experience of leadership in a secondary mainstream or special school setting. They will also be expected to evidence excellent communication skills to articulate a clear vision and influence others. These skills will be used to build on the schools existing and long established reputation for excellence. The new Deputy Headteacher must have a clear and well-founded philosophy for inclusion and equal opportunities, which will take forward the schools specialist role in delivering outstanding educational opportunities for pupils attending Clare Mount in an ever-changing SEND educational environment.

 

We are looking for an outward looking leader and practitioner who can work in partnership with a range of stakeholders in the best interests of pupils and staff at Clare Mount Specialist Sports College.

Director of Personal Development and Well-Being

 

Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is a very successful school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, including Autism. It has 232 pupils on roll aged 11 – 19 years. The school is outstanding in all areas as judged in its most recent Ofsted report and has Autism Accreditation status.

 

Clare Mount is looking for an outstanding leader, who can inspire those around him/her and who shares our belief that ‘physical activity and sport changes lives’. We believe that investing in the personal development and well-being of our pupils is at the heart of raising aspirations, improving behaviour, developing leadership and communication skills and achieving academic and vocational success. We want our pupils to be ‘role models and catalysts for change’ in how others perceive their special educational needs and adopt an ‘I can’ mentality in taking on any new and existing challenges.

 

The Director of Personal Development and Well-being will be responsible for the personal development and well-being of all pupils, staff and the wider community involved with Clare Mount. You will be responsible for managing our Sports College development plan, developing close working relationships with the PE Department and for a wider remit of health and well-being promotion across the whole school.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated practitioner who is child-centred and able to meet the diverse needs of young people who have difficulties within a learning and social environment. You must be fully inclusive and interested in the development of the whole child, and able to differentiate work and your teaching to meet a range of social, emotional and academic needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated practitioner who is child-centred and able to meet the diverse needs of young people who have difficulties within a learning and social environment. You must be fully inclusive and interested in the development of the whole child, can differentiate work and your teaching to meet a range of social, emotional and academic needs.
