EXTREME SPORT HUB GETS INTO THE COMMUNITY

The Extreme Sport Hub ran a second experience day in September 2017, however, this time we listened closely to the views and opinions of young people themselves. Talking to various focus groups we responded to the ideas of young people that they would like to see the extreme sports on offer delivered in a community setting, rather than school setting, and that they also wanted a mix of extreme sport experiences complimented by other sports they could do in the community. Subsequently, the event was hosted at The Hive Youth Zone. 50 youngsters from local primary and secondary schools had the chance to be inspired by European skateboarding champion Neil Danns, World in-line skating Champion Jenna Downing, but also to step into the boxing zone in the new facility. After a great day, all got flyers from The Hive in the hope they will continue to access sport in the community.
