Clare Mount has been visiting The Calvert Trust in the Lake District for many years. On this page you will find more information about the centre, what it is, where it is and the types of activities on offer.
The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor centre with 40 years’ experience delivering challenging outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities.
On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our centre offers a warm welcome; accessible accommodation and exciting breaks for schools, groups, families and individuals with their friends and carers.
We are accessible to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot cater.
There are many activities available at the Calvert Trust and all are led by very highly trained group leaders from the centre. Activities on offer include:
•Canoeing and Kayaking •Sailing •Climbing and Abseiling •Trapeze and Swing •Zip Wire •Horse Riding and Trap Driving •Lakeland Walk and Push •Ghyll Scrambling •Hand Biking and Cycling •Archery •Bushcraft •Problem Solving •Orienteering •Mine Visit
